Where do I begin with a Business Plan

The first step is to collect the "facts".  If you can answer the questions in our Business Plan Checklist, you're ready to begin developing a Business Plan.

Next: Locate a Business Consultant or Developer, like HBP & Associates.  Outline the areas you'll need assistance with and find out "how" much information you will be required to submit.

Review the information you've gathered and make a knowledgeable decision as to whether or not you have the time to create this plan or if you want to pay a professional to assist you.

Government sites offer Business Plan Templates that you can review, as well.  Remember, your success will be determined by the "facts" you've collected and how much knowledge you have about the business you wish to pursue.

What resources are available to me?

There is a tone of information available for the entrepreneur.  All you have to know is "where" to search for the information you need.

Begin by visiting your library.  Research books on business, starting your own business, marketing, and the type of business you wish to open.

The Small Business Association Development Center also offers a variety of services.  From free consultation to pamphlets and Business Plan templates.

Sales Tax is due when ever you're selling a product to a customer.  For up-to-date information on claiming sales tax, visit your state's website.

Do I need a CPA?

Yes, you will eventually need a CPA.  Even though you may be able to input the numbers into an automated system and have a clear understanding of accounting basics, the knowledge a CPA brings to the table far surpasses our abilities.

Therefore, the question really should read: When will I need a CPA? You should consult a CPA at the very beginning.  At the end of the year, your CPA will ask that you bring in a copy of your books.  As long as the Chart of Accounts you're using and they're using match, things should run smoothly from there.

Yes we offer a flat rate service for most of our copywriting services.  As a current client, you are given the option to sign up for one of our Affordable Payment Plans. (click to learn more)

How competitive is your fee scale?

Our fees are competitive with the United States rates in the virtual industry.  Unfortunately, we can not compete with those who work oversees in India.  We believe "quality" means more to our clients than "low-ball" rates.

Yes, you can request exclusive services.  Often...people correspond with me first and we discuss whether or not they are willing to take on someone else.

Is there an additional fee if I request a personal assistant?

No.

Do you contract services out to other Service Providers that don't have the same skills?

We will never hire someone else to do the work you contract us for.  On rare occasions, we may inform you that to be more productive on large projects we will require the assistance of an associate.  BUT that associate works under our umbrella of skills and performs at the same top rate as we do. How long have you been in business?

We've been in business since 1997.  With the boom of Ebay and Elance, we joined their Service Provider team in 2003.  But our services have been around for 9 years and don't plan on going anywhere.

Of course you may.  We will provide you with references if you deem them necessary. (click here for testimonials)
